Open the lid, place your index finger on the upper edge of the cover plate, and with your thumb pressing on the upper edge of the dip where the applicator is, push upward to lift it.

Set the refill along the bottom frame of the palette.

Slowly lower the cover plate and press from above until you hear a click.
