Doctor K

Japanese Dermatology-Inspired Skincare Powered by Cocktail Vitamins

Doctor K is a Japanese skincare brand born from the clinical experience of specialists in vitamin C research and cosmetic dermatology. Founded in 2002, the brand grew out of a simple idea: effective daily skincare should bring the knowledge developed in a dermatology setting into a routine that can be used consistently at home.

At the heart of Doctor K is its proprietary Cocktail Vitamin® philosophy. Rather than relying on a single hero ingredient, Doctor K combines vitamin C with carefully selected vitamins and supporting skincare ingredients according to the purpose of each formula. The brand developed this approach after observing that vitamins can complement one another when used together, allowing vitamin C to become part of a broader, multi-ingredient skincare system.

The Doctor K Approach to Vitamin C

Vitamin C has long been central to Doctor K.

The brand focuses not only on using vitamin C, but on its concentration, stability and delivery into the stratum corneum. Doctor K also uses vitamin C derivatives selected for improved stability and skin compatibility, informed by feedback from clinical practice.

But Doctor K skincare is not simply “high-concentration vitamin C skincare.”

Its formulas are designed around different skin concerns, combining vitamins with ingredients such as amino acids and botanical extracts. Each product has its own composition rather than following one universal formula.

This makes the range particularly relevant for concerns such as:

• visible pores and uneven texture
• dull-looking skin
• dryness and dehydration
• loss of firmness and glow
• excess shine
• uneven-looking tone
• signs of aging

Doctor K describes Cocktail Vitamin® as a core technology used to support moisture, firmness, radiance and smoother-looking skin while helping maintain a healthy overall skin condition.

From Cleansing to Targeted Vitamin Care

Doctor K has expanded its vitamin-based philosophy across a complete skincare routine.

The current Japanese range includes cleansing gels and oils, exfoliating face washes, vitamin C serums, lotions, treatment serums, emulsions, creams, UV care and lip care.

Popular products include formulas from the C, ABC-G and medicated skincare ranges, such as:

Doctor K C Control Repair Serum
A vitamin C-focused serum developed as part of the brand's targeted pore and skin-conditioning care.

Doctor K ABC-G Repair Serum
A multi-vitamin serum reflecting the brand's Cocktail Vitamin® approach.

Doctor K Medicated C Clear White Lotion
A medicated lotion combining daily hydration with brightening-focused care.

Doctor K ABC-G Peel Wash
A powder-style cleansing and exfoliating treatment designed to support smoother-looking skin.

Doctor K Medicated C Wrinkle White Milk
A treatment emulsion positioned around moisture, brightening and age-related skin concerns.

Doctor K Medicated ABC-G Premium Cream TA
A richer cream for more intensive care within the ABC-G range.

The collection also includes cleansing, UV protection and scalp-free daily care products designed to make vitamin-focused skincare part of the entire routine rather than a single serum step.

More Than Clinical-Style Formulation

Doctor K's origins are clinical, but the brand has never treated skincare as something that only needs to be functional.

According to the brand, texture, comfort and fragrance were considered from the beginning because daily skincare needs to be pleasant enough to use consistently. Selected essential oils and comfortable textures are therefore part of the Doctor K experience alongside its more technical vitamin-focused formulation philosophy.

This combination—dermatology-inspired formulation with a more refined Japanese cosmetic sensibility—is one reason Doctor K occupies an interesting space between clinical skincare and prestige Japanese beauty.

What Is Cocktail Vitamin®?

Cocktail Vitamin® is Doctor K's proprietary approach to combining multiple vitamins rather than treating vitamin C as an isolated ingredient.

The brand explains that vitamins can support one another when used together. Doctor K therefore pairs vitamin C with other vitamins and complementary skincare ingredients in different ratios depending on the objective of each formula.

A simple way to understand the Doctor K philosophy is:

Vitamin C is the foundation.
Cocktail Vitamin® is the system.

That distinction is important.

Doctor K is not simply adding vitamin C to every product. It is building different formulas around how vitamins can work together for concerns ranging from pores and texture to moisture, radiance and firmness.
